FFS Beauty – Eco Swap Razor Review – Do Their Products Deliver Their Promise Of Fuss Free Shaving?

The brand promises to make beauty routines and shopping for them easier, whilst also reducing environmental impact. In this post I’ll be sharing how I got on with their razor that I’ve been trying out. For full transparency the items were kindly gifted from the brand with no obligation to share this post.

Things I Like About The Brand & Their Products Before Trying

To some this may seem silly but I love that FFS have designed their products, including bottles of body scrub, shaving cream etc to fit through the letterbox. I hate coming home from work to find a “sorry we missed you card” then have to faff with either getting it redelivered and staying in or giving up some of my weekend to queue at the Post Office so this is a big win for me.

The brand offer a blade recycling scheme which also earns customers loyalty points that in turn can be spent on more products. This, along with their reusable metal handles, I think is great for reducing waste compared to so many single use shaving options on the highstreet.

My Experience With The Razor

I opted for a glorious bright orange razor handle. At the time of posting their website has 15 different coloured handles, some of which with a metallic shine finish and others with bold, or cute pastel colours. I like that there’s lots of choice to make the product personal to you. Mine now matches my orange towels and flannels which I find fun!

The razor is quite weighty but I didn’t find this to be in any way problematic. If anything it made it feel easier and sturdier for me to hold onto compared to a more flimsy plastic razor. I found it really easy to clip the razor head onto the razor and to use it. With some other brands in the past I have found it quite a faff to get the blade head to hook onto the handle. The razor head definitely glides along my skin with ease so I had no concerns about accidental nicks around my knees or ankles. The razor didn’t cause my skin any irritation either. All together I’ve found it a really positive experience. The product has been doing what I need it to do without any complaints!

I’m impressed with the brands prices too as I find these to be on par with what I’ve been paying on the high street.

95p Imperfect Razor Kit Offer

Whilst writing this post I came across a limited stock offer where FFS are offering a slightly imperfect razor handle, plus razor head and cosmetic bag for only 95p instead of £19.95 which is an incredible deal! My Most Repurchased Skincare Products That I Highly Recommend For Combination, Spot Prone Skin – Eucerin Oil Control SPF 50 & The Ordinary Niacinamide Serum

Looking back over the skincare journey I’ve been on since developing adult acne in my early twenties I find it really easy to identify the products I’ve just repeat bought. I hate the language you see on social media of people saying “you need this” etc so I’ve always leant away from saying I’d recommend products. But I think my shopping habits over the last few years speak for themselves with these ones!

From the age of about 21-26 the only moisturiser I ever used was La Roche Posay’s Effaclar Duo+. It’s a brilliant product, I found it helped me treat breakouts and lighten hyperpigmentation. The only reason I don’t still repeat buy it comes down to loving exploring skincare products and discovering The Ordinary’s Niacinamide serum which is significantly cheaper and achieves great results for me. When I don’t use the serum I notice that my forehead’s oil levels are less managed or balanced. The product helps to manage breakouts as well as fade post acne marks with the 30ml bottle size being only £5 hence my preference of buying this over La Roche Posay these days. Don’t get me wrong when I had some serious breakouts a few weeks ago the relief I felt when I found an Effaclar Duo+ sample mini in my stash was unreal and I’d absolutely use the product again, it just isn’t a staple essential for me anymore. Since using my first bottle of The Ordinary’s Niacinamide serum I don’t think I’ve been without it for more than a month. I always have a back up in my stash, it’s just brilliant for my skin.

Eucerin’s Oil Control SPF 50 is another beauty I’ve been repeat buying since I found it in 2020 or 2021. I love that this is reasonably priced, it is £16 but I’ve been able to buy it fairly regularly over the years on Boots £10 Tuesday. I don’t personally like really watery, runny SPFs as I find them messy to apply. This is more of a cream texture but it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy on the skin. It claims to mattify, it doesn’t make me look so matte that I look dead, I’d call the finish slightly dewy which I really like. It doesn’t make me look like my forehead is an oil slick by mid afternoon. It doesn’t sting my eyes or cause me any breakouts. I couldn’t even begin to estimate how many of these I’ve emptied.
